Garments & textiles fair showcases ornate, functional designsPosted: April 25, 2011
Major suppliers from the Greater China region will return to Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo on April 27 to 30, 2011 for the second China Sourcing Fair: Garments & Textiles. Many of the participants at this year’s spring edition of the fair boast decades of industry experience and provide value-added services such as dyeing, laser engraving and button tooling.
Most exhibitors are expected to be at the ready-to-wear section, where women’s clothes will likely dominate the displays. Pleated and ruffled dresses, beaded blouses, crinkled skirts and European-style wool coats are among the latest releases to be revealed. Blazers that incorporate Lurex for enhanced visual appeal will also be available.
Besides garments, exhibitors will showcase an array of textiles for various purposes. Rolls of gingham, cavalry twill, coteline, satin, poplin and corduroy are going to be ready for sampling. Suppliers of polyester, nylon, suede, velvet, fleece, tricot, mesh and bonded fabrics will likewise be in attendance. A few are presenting mosquito-resistant, anti-fungal, UV-protective and other functional designs developed in-house.
A pavilion will be set up specifically for garment trimming providers. Buyers can look forward to a selection of seam-sealing and embossed hook-and-loop tape, ribbed elastic cuffs, cotton cords, and flat and shank buttons. Packaging and printing materials, which include hangtags and garment boxes with prints that use vegetable-based ink, are going to be showcased as well.
The China Sourcing Fair: Garments & Textiles will run simultaneously with the China Sourcing Fair: Underwear & Swimwear, China Sourcing Fair: Fashion Accessories and India Sourcing Fair: Garments & Accessories.
